Latin American Cinemateca Of Los Angeles And The UCLA Film & Television Archive Present Spanish Language DRÁCULA (1931)

The Latin American Cinemateca of Los Angeles (LACLA) and the UCLA Film & Television Archive will co-present the special virtual screening of classic film Drácula, the long-lost film shot on the same set as the Bella Lagossi classic, considered by many critics to be the better of the two films.

Texas Performing Arts presents a screening of the1931 film FRANKENSTEIN, starring Boris Karloff as the Frankenstein monster, featuring a new film score by composer Michael Shapiro performed by The University of Texas Wind Ensemble, Jerry F. Junkin, conductor. The first half of the program features the UT Wind Ensemble performing Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice, with video projections designed by UT graduate Stephanie Busing.

Tokyo International Film Festival to Present a Special Screening at Kabukiza Theatre - Chaplin's City Lights (1931)

The 27th Tokyo International Film Festival has just announced at the press conference to hold a special screening on October 27 for the first time in cooperation with Kabukiza, a hub that conveys Japanese traditional culture to the world. Charles Chaplin, 'the king of comedy,' still attracts people 100 years after his screen debut. Kabukiza opened to the public for the first time in 1889, the year of his birth. Chaplin responded with enthusiasm and excitement to every aspect of Japanese culture, in particular kabuki.
