(5/10/2013) - Tickets for Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' new 2013-14 season will go on sale to the public on Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. Among the offerings are 75 awe-inspiring live performances of dance, music, theater, comedy and more. Additional events will be announced at a later date.

New Subscriptions for ASU Gammage Go On Sale 5/13

(5/10/2013) - New subscriptions to the 2013-2014 Broadway Across America - Arizona season at ASU Gammage in Tempe go on sale May 13. It will be a Broadway extravaganza with a seven-show series and three special engagements. The top touring market has done it again bringing some of the biggest Broadway hits to town including EVITA, THE GERSHWINS' PORGY & BESS, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, ONCE as well as the long awaited return of JERSEY BOYS and DISNEY'S THE LION KING.

LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE to Return to Scottsdale Center, 6/4-16

(5/8/2013) - The international hit play Love, Loss, and What I Wore will return by popular demand to Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts for a limited engagement June 4-16. The all-star cast features Dee Hoty (Mamma Mia!), Sabrina LeBeauf (The Cosby Show), Amanda Setton (The Mindy Project), Zuzanna Szadkowski (Gossip Girl) and Dawn Wells (Gilligan's Island).

THE WIZARD OF OZ North American Tour to Launch from Las Vegas in September 2013; Danielle Wade to Play 'Dorothy'

(5/6/2013) - Producers Bill Kenwright, The Really Useful Group, David Mirvish, Troika Entertainment & Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures have just announced that the first North American tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new stage adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ will commence on September 10, 2013 at The Smith Center in Las Vegas, NV.

Fountain Hills Theater to Stage THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, 5/17-6/2

(5/5/2013) - Fountain Hills Theater has announced the opening of the classic musical comedy, The Pirates of Penzance. Stash the gold! Guard the women! Hide the rum! The 'Pirates' have arrived! Set sail across our stage on this swashbuckling Gilbert and Sullivan adventure loaded with enough laughs to fill Davey Jones' locker. It follows the fortunes of Frederic, a young lad who is mistakenly apprenticed to the Pirate King. When Frederic falls for the lovely Mabel, whose father is the very model of a modern Major General, a tempest brews on the sea of love. Full of roving rogues and dazzling damsels in distress, it's a treasure chest full of mischievous musical mayhem.

Regional Opera Company of the Week: Arizona Opera

(3/7/2013) - Arizona Opera was originally known as Tucson Opera Company and founded in 1971 by a group of opera enthusiasts. The inaugural season was two performances of The Barber of Seville by Rossini in Tucson but by the 1976-77 season the company was performing their complete seasons in both Tucson and Phoenix. Now in the 42nd season, the company produces five grand operas throughout the state each season and is one of the only companies in the US that performs in two cities.
