Tony Award winner Lemon Andersen is the subject of the new documentary film, LEMON, which recently closed the 13th edition of the New York International Latino Film Festival. The poet/performer sat down with Univision News recently to speak about his film, writing idols, and what makes a good poet.  Check out the video.

COUNTY OF KINGS, a stage memoir by Lemon Andersen, developed and directed by Elise Thoron will play at the ASU Gammage Center October 5-6, 2012. Season package and single tickets are available now. For more information, visit: http://www.asugammage.com/shows/2012-13-gammage-beyond/county-of-kings

Originally presented by Spike Lee at The Public Theater in New York, County of Kings received critical acclaim including a rave review from The New York Times’ Ben Brantley. Lemon’s unique voice flows from hard-edged drama to street poetry, creating a vivid portrait of his adverse yet often humorous coming-of-age experiences while growing up in Brooklyn in the 80s and 90s. Andersen’s performance touches on young love, sibling rivalry, juvenile crime, addiction and ultimately personal triumph in this moving one-man journey toward self-discovery and redemption. County of Kings has been staged for American audiences from coast-to-coast, in Europe and South Africa.

Andersen is a critically acclaimed and award-winning stage, film and poetry artist and a Tony® Award-winning original cast member of Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam On Broadway.
